About the Clear Prop Discount Store

In 2004 the Recreational Flying website was born. In those days the web site was called ultralight.net.au and was formed to provide enhanced communication between the pilots of ultralight aircraft all around Australia. It proved so successful that the site was expanded to include pilots of all recreational aircraft including Trikes and Weightshift, the entire Ultralight range from the traditional rag and tube Ultralights to the "plastic fantastic" composite manufactured ones and then later LSA (Light Sports Aircraft) category of recreational aircraft. Ultralight.net.au although still registered to this site changed its name to Recreational Flying to better reflect the vast range and opportunities that we have as recreational pilots in the aircraft that we fly.

Towards the end of 2006 I realised that as soon as you mention that something you are buying is for your aircraft the price of the item doubled. Whilst recreational pilots are only flying for fun and in fact can not do so for any kind of financial reward, they are still paying the high prices of anything to do with aviation by the profit hungry suppliers and retailers. Having my own registered Propriety Limited company Jackaroo Solutions, (my main business activity is software development) I thought that it would help the many recreational aviators out there if I purchased products through my company at cost price and sold them by way of an on-line aviation store at very minimal marked up prices. As the shop wouldn't be my main source of income I could do this and at the same time help the many recreational flyers to get their products a lot cheaper and this is how this shop became a service rather then a business. The proceeds from the very small margins that we place on products in the Discount Store provide the necessary financial support needed to keep the Recreational Flying website, including the great supportive and helpful forums completely FREE for ALL recreational pilots! Your orders help to maintain this site and all its resources completely free for all pilot's.

My name is Ian Baker and I own a blue Gazelle, my pride and joy that has enormous sentimental value as it was in this aircraft that I first obtained my RA-Aus Pilot Certificate. I am also the Australian & New Zealand distributor of The Millennium Master - an exciting and very fast aircraft made from carbon fiber and kevlar, has a Rotax 100hp 912ULS engine, cruises at 170kts and is a pure pleasure to fly. However, when I want to feel the true joys of local flying I can't wait to step back into my Gazelle. I am lucky to have my flying supported by my lovely wife Corrine who helps to dispatch your orders in the store and my two children Caitlin and Lachlan.
